HEALTH AND VACCINATIONS

Please consult your doctor for up-to-date medical travel information about Kenya before departure. A medical form must be completed together with the booking form.

MONEY EXCHANGE & HANDLING

As at January 2008
120KSh = 1 GBP (Inter mean bank rate)

The easiest and safest way to carry money is a credit card. There are many ATMs (which accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Cirrus) throughout Kenya and credit cards are also accepted in major shops and restaurants. Some banks will also allow cash advances on the card. Cash in the 3 major currencies (Euros, English pounds and US dollars) are easy to change, and some Forex bureaus and nearly all banks accept Australian dollars. We recommend taking some cash for emergencies, but please take into consideration the safety issues of carrying only cash.

SPENDING MONEY

As this is a fully inclusive trip including all meals you will need to allow enough money for the following: some meals as indicated, snacks, shopping, drinks, tips (from 10%) and gratuities (which are customary in Kenya -  allow at least Ksh 100 per night for your tent/room attendant).
