Safety

Many national governments provide a regularly updated advice service on safety issues involved with international travel. We recommend that you check your government's advice for their latest travel information before departure. We strongly recommend the use of a neck wallet or money belt while travelling, for the safe keeping of cash and other valuable items. Leave your valuable jewellery at home - you won't need it while travelling. A lock is recommended for securing your luggage.

Note that Community Safaris through The Rift Valley Adventure Group has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the trip itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns.

A Couple of Rules

Illegal drugs will not be tolerated on Rift Valley Adventure ‘Adventure Safaris’. Possessing or using drugs not only contravenes the laws of the land, but also puts the everyone with you at risk. Rift Valley Adventures philosophy of travel is one of respect towards everyone we encounter, and in particular the local people who make this region the special place it is.

African Conditions

It is essential that all clients understand that in Africa local conditions are not always predictable and such occurrences as border/district closures, delayed ferry sailings, poor road conditions, high river levels etc can and do from time to time cause delays, frustrations and diversions from our planned route. We will do our best to minimise inconvenience but cannot accept responsibility for these matters that are clearly beyond our control.

The Nature of Our Trips

Clients must understand that the safaris we operate are adventurous. As such there is a small element of personal risk that clients, parents and guardians must be prepared to accept. Only on this understanding can clients be accepted on any of our safaris.

Important - Please Read

The information in these Trip Notes is given in good faith, and covers the average range of conditions likely to be found on this trip. Where differences exist in the information between these Trip Notes and our current brochure, the Trip Notes are the correct version and supersede the brochure. In remote destinations abnormal conditions can prevail at any time, and all adventurous holidays can therefore be subject to unexpected changes; in order to enjoy them you should be prepared to be flexible where necessary.
